1.The Firm (1989)

   The Firm (2009)

The two films above are both set in the 80s when hooligans were rife.However the two films represent this era differently.In the 1989 version the clothing they wear is mainly suits and smart wear but the 2009 is totally different with the cast wearing more casual wear like trainers jeans and track tops with polos or turtlenecks.One of the scenes that stays the same in both films is when the ICC(football firm) trick Dom into getting a tattoo from the group with a stanley blade and ink but the group then show that its a joke as they used a Biro for there's.The violent nature of both films is similar as they both involve Bex being stabbed at the end of the film and the meet-ups are similar with the teams used.The music is very different as in the 1989 film the music is mostly dramatic and tense but in the 2009 film the music used is electro-pop with songs such as soft cell by tainted love and mad world by tears for fears.One of the major differences is the video quality as the films are filmed 30 years apart so you can see that the cameras used will be different.

2. 21 Jump Street(film)

The 2012 film 21 jump street is very different from the 80s television series. Even though they are both based around younger looking cops being put into a high school to track down criminals they are quite different due to the film being based around two main characters where as the television series focuses on a group of main characters. One of the main differences is the eras that they are both set in as the TV show is set in the 80s where as the film in set in 2012 so the speech and music will be very different.The style of dress will also be different due to the fashions and the policing uniform changes. The one similarity is the name of the street they work on due to it being a secret base for the under cover police.The video quality is different due to the technology available.The msuic will be different as the film will have modern msuci including dance and hip hop with the older tv series having generic tv show music.


3. Oceans 11(2001)

    Oceans 11 (1960)

The background for both of these versions one made in 1960 and the other in 2001 are identical due to them both being about a huge con man racket who tamper with gambling styles.The differences are that ones is black and white and the other is in colour. One large similarity is that huge stars are used in both with the first having Frank Sinatra,Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Junior and the remake had stars including George Clooney,Brad Pitt and  Matt Damon which shows that this a film made for big stars.Another difference is that the 2001 remake has better film technology so the film will be clearer visually and is in colour plus the gambling methods may be similar but the machines will be more technical due to the advances in technology.Both are set in gambling capital Las Vegas due to reports that is where the most money is won. The inclusion of Sammy Davis Jr was controversial due to raicsm being rife in this era where as when Bernie Mac was cast in the remake no one was negative due to the difference in eras and times.
