I am interested in media and in particular production and radio are
subjects I believe I excel
in and can make a living in these areas. This is because I am a very enthusiastic young man
but in the right ways.
The reason I want to be in the film production business is because I find this subject
interesting and believe I can succeed in this sector, as I am good at pre production planning
the piece and also being at the right place to set the correct atmosphere for the production.
Also in production I am creative when it comes to finding the right locations and the genres
needed for the production so that it all makes sense.
The reason Radio is one of my chosen subjects is that I am very interested in this sector and
believe I have the right attitude as I am enthusiastic but also hardworking and this is good
in the radio industry as producers can sometimes be put on air so you don't want to give the
wrong impression to the audience and I am also very confident when put in situations that
involve speaking to others.
Media production is a course that interests me as I feel confident when planning the
production and setting the scene and choosing the right types of characters and music to make
the production meet the correct criteria. My knowledge of media production is vast, as I have
done plenty of research on how production varies between the different Medias. People who I
look up to in this industry are George Lucas as he has made his own company from this and
earned a superstar reputation from franchises such as star wars and Indiana Jones and both of
these have cult followings so to one day gain a reputation like his would be unbelievable. The
way he makes fantasy real by using real-time actors is well used and effective. Martin
Scorsese is another film producer I look up to as the style of films he makes are electrifying
as he combines the drama of the narrative with his cinematic edge on how he exaggerates the
story of the film.
Radio is a subject that interests me as I feel confident with most aspects of the industry
including scriptwriting as I know how to give the effect to the audio that makes it as if you
can see it, pre production as I can decide what music to use and what tone of voice and the
sound FX needed, Production as I can give and receive orders on how to perform on air and how
to create a scene to give the audience something to think about and finally radio presenting
is my strongest point as I have a loud and clear voice and I am a very lively character and I
can translate that into my presentation so the audience do not feel bored or awkward and my
accent helps with this as it is understandable and not too strong. The people on radio who
inspire me are Chris Moyles because of his stature in British Radio and because of his witty
banter and attitude that helped him become as successful as he is. Another radio Dj who
inspires me is Danny Howard as he went from being a nobody to one of Radio1s biggest stars.
Things that I enjoy include listening to music, sometimes on the radio and socialising as I am
a sociable young man who is keen for talking to anyone and another hobby of mine is DJing as
radio can help me build a reputation in the music industry and can build a larger fan base.
Also watching films is another interest, as I like to see the shots what are used and wonder
how the producer comes up with certain ideas. Another interest of mine is researching and this
could come in handy as It would be necessary to research locations, techniques, sound or shot
styles and about topics that will be covered.
